If Ndour Cham were alive today he would have been reinstated back into the army and be honoured as a national hero. But this is not the case he fell prey to Yahya Jammeh. Ndour Cham is no more. His family should conduct a community prayer service for him. Ndour believed in marabouts hence, he succumbed to the axiom of the power of nature. He thought he would never be caught, arrested or let alone jailed and even killed by Jammeh. He had escaped many times including the day he left Gambia. Ndour Cham was in the country while Armed and Security services embarked on a frantic house to house search of him but he escaped un-notice.

Some French Citizens, faced between the choice of electing scandal-hit politicians, are opting to hire Barack Obama as the president of France. A campaign spreading across France has garnered support with over 40,000 people putting their signature on a petition to have Obama run for the French presidency. Organizers of the unofficial Obama17 campaign have spread posters across Paris with the slogan "Oui on peut" which translates in English to mean "Yes we can ".

The owner of instagram page @NigerianWomenDiary, real name Adeola Olonilua, was arrested by Big Church Group yesterday for defamatory reports about Churchill Olakunle's company. She was arrested at 3pm at Tantalizers at Lekki Phase 1. The woman is still in police custody at Maroko Police state and according to sources close to the company, she will be charged to court. Arms deal: Obanikoro’s wife loses Abuja mansion to fed govt

A Federal Capital Territory High Court, sitting in Jabi, Abuja, has asked that Alhaja Moroophat Obanikoro, the wife of a former Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, should forfeit her property to the Federal Government, pending the conclusion of the ongoing investigation of her husband and children. The court subsequently threw out her request that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission should pay her the sum of N200m for violating her fundamental human rights.

Trump criticises US $6trn spending in Middle East crisis

President Donald Trump has criticised the U.S. spending in the Middle East, saying the country’s sojourn in the crisis-hit region gulped six trillion dollars but failed to achieve its purpose. Trump, in his remarks at the meeting with the National Governors Association, said the Middle East was now worse than it was 17 years ago before the country’s involvement.

On Saturday, US President Donald Trump congratulated the new DNC Chairman Thomas Perez as the new DNC (Democratic National Convention) chairman but after Perez came for him on Twitter, he changed his tune. Sunday, he tweeted that the DNC election was “totally rigged” against Muslim Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN), who was endorsed by Bernie Sanders, adding that former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton demanded Perez.

Naba Asigri Abugragoe Azoka II, Paramount Chief of the Bawku traditional area in Ghana, has threatened to ban spiritual gatherings over the increasing numbers of people posing as men of God and misleading the public with false prophecies. In a statement, he issued to all the Churches in the Bawku area last weekend, he said false prophecies were generating problems, with some family members being accused of witchcraft and causing harm to their family.

Petrol sells for N170 per litre in Zamfara

An acute scarcity of petroleum products has forced an increase in the pump price of petrol to N170 as against approved N145 per litre in Zamfara. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that some of the filling stations in the state were shut while others were selling the product between N165 and N170 per litre. The Kaduna Zonal Operations Office of the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) had, last two weeks, sealed 13 filling stations in the state for selling the commodity above approved price.

Rumana Ahmed began working at the White House during Obama’s administration immediately after graduating from college. Malick Jatta, a leading former member of Ex-dictator Yahya Jammeh’s constituted assassin team has been taken into custody. He got arrested few hours ago. Mr. Jatta is helping the police in their investigation. He was taken ill recently. He is yet to fully recover from his illness, sources said. Malick Jatta is a native Tujereng. He went into hiding shortly after the fall of dictator Jammeh. He was found chilling at his native village in Tujereng, where he was nabbed and taken into custody.

Police foil suicide attack in eastern Algeria

A policeman managed to foil an attempted suicide attack in eastern Algeria on Sunday, opening fire on the bomber and triggering the explosives belt he was wearing, officials said. The national police force said the attacker had been approaching a police station in the city of Constantine when he was shot by the officer.

Makarfi accuses APC of intolerance, says party unprepared for governance

The Caretaker Committee Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Ahmed Muhammed Makarfi, has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of allegedly suppressing opposition, saying the act portrays it as being unprepared for the business of governance. UK Government Okays Diezani’s Trial For ‘Money Laundering’

All is set for the trial of a former Minister of Petroleum Resources Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, and four others in London for alleged corrupt practices. The trial has been fixed for June and more evidence were hauled to the United Kingdom at the weekend. Part of the evidence are the proceedings of a Federal High Court in respect of the order of final forfeiture of $153million allegedly traced to the ex-minister.
