Gambia: Who Said Grandma VP Overseer Doesn’t Have A Swag? Meet Francis Blain Gambia’s Ambassador To The UK!
Mr. Blain, was recently appointed Gambian Ambassador to the United Kingdom. He is waiting on his diplomatic “AGREEMA” to be accepted by the British government before he could commence his new diplomatic assignment duty.
Mr. Blain and Gandma VP overseer are good friends. Ms. Tambajang Jallow is a family friend to the Blains. Mr. Blain played a pivotal role towards her employment into the UN system in Liberia, and elsewhere across the African continent. This is the guy, who encouraged Ms. Tambajang to work for the UN system.
Francis Blain is a brother to the late Tonny Blain, the former Director of Education during the First Republic. He is more than qualified for the post Barrow, has offered him. His appointment will help harmonize the bilateral relationship between Banjul and Britain. It will also speed up Gambia’s readmission to the Commonwealth—given his verse experience in diplomacy.
If Grandma is reading us at this time, she cannot deny seeking shelter at the home of the Blains (location withheld) following failed kidnapping on her life by Jammeh’s former constituted assassin team called the jungullars. She was quoted as having said that the Jungullars wanted to abduct her. She hid behind her cupboard before she could finally made it to the Blain’s residence. The information is coming from very good sources. The Blains have always been looking out for Grandma. Grandma spends most of her free time hanging out with them.
Grandma has put her life on the line during Jammeh’s rule by openly defying the dictator. Her contribution towards the struggle to liberate our nation from the clutches of Jammeh’s misrule cannot be brushed under the carpet, but she should understand that one contributing to the struggle by means of cash, knowledge, wisdom, or any means doesn’t give one the self-entitlement for compensation or for a job opportunity, post Jammeh era. She should vacate the office of the VP for the sake of her legacy.
Her defiant attitude is soiling her future legacy, as one of those who had stood up to the dictatorship at a time, when few were brave enough to speak truth to power. She should also stay away from any conduct that might be viewed as a conflict of interest or might cause a disrepute to the office she has been bestowed upon.
